CIS Agreement comes into force in Uzbekistan on May 8

On May 8, the Agreement on Industry Partnerships and the Creation of the Council for Industrial Policy of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States comes into force in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The document calls for industrial cooperation among its signatories to coordinate an industrial policy, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

The document also specifies legal and organisational issues of the CIS Council for Industrial Policy.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan is appointed as the designated organisation responsible for the implementation of the Agreement, including cooperation within the Council for Industrial Policy of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Uzbekistan’s participation in the Agreement contributes to supporting sustainable development and increasing the competitiveness of all sectors, creating an enabling environment for innovative development in the regions, building mutually beneficial cooperative links among manufacturing companies and developing production chains through changes in industrial commodity production.
