Uzbekistan to produce Living History film series

The project will cover different historical periods of the Republic and tell the stories about renowned personalities.

The Living History film series will be produced in Uzbekistan on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He discussed the project with the high-ranking officials during his visit to the Cinema Palace on May 16, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported. The Living History programme will run from 2024 to 2030 and tell viewers about different historical periods, from antiquity to modernity, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The President noted that this programme and the implementation of the idea will require substantial funding and hundreds of talented specialists. However, the authorities will find the funds required for this historic project despite the difficulties. 

The films will tell the stories about renowned historical figures, including the national hero Shirak, who lived in the 6th century BC, Amir Temur, Ajiniyaz and others.

Not only filmmakers from Uzbekistan will be engaged to make films, but also specialists from different countries, including Russia, Hungary, Belarus, Germany, Spain, Japan, Turkey, South Korea, Turkmenistan, India, Kazakhstan, China, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
