A Kazakhstan-Malaysia roundtable meeting on investment took place in Astana. According to the press office of the Government of Kazakhstan, the event brought together the representatives of business communities and scientific circles of the two countries. They discussed the prospects of cooperation in various sectors of the economy.
Chairman of the Government of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov emphasised the importance of political dialogue between the countries and the intention to expand exports to Malaysia.
He noted the activity of Malaysian companies in Kazakhstan and the number of investment projects. According to current statistics, 48 companies with Malaysian capital operate in the Republic, and 17 joint investment projects are being implemented.
Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim highlighted the positive dynamics of interaction between the countries and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in such sectors as tourism, education, energy and the supply of halal products from Kazakhstan.
