Tire plant to be built in Karaganda Region

Upon reaching the total production capacity, the plant will produce up to 9 million tires per year.

On April 5, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin and President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov attended the ground-breaking ceremony a tire plant in Saran town in Karaganda Region, giving a start to the building project in a solemn atmosphere, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

KamaTyresKZ LLP – a joint entity created at Allur Group of Companies JSC and Tatneft PJSC undertook to ‘breathe life’ into the ambitious project. It will perform construction and installation works in two stages. Upon completing the first stage, the plant will roll out 3.5 million tires per year, and upon completing the second stage, it will produce 9 million tires per year.

Askar Mamin said the Saran plant would have a multiplier effect on the economic sector of Karaganda Region and the Republic, enhance its export capacity and competitiveness and create many new jobs.

Emphasising that Kazakhstan was one of the leading external partners of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov said bilateral trade turnover increased by 14% and exceeded US$ 630 million last year, despite the pandemic.

The project will be completed in late 2022; 125 billion tenge have been invested in the project. Over 1,100 people will work at the new enterprise. They have started off on practical training at the facilities of Tatneft PJSC.
