The UN General Assembly adopted the Resolution on World Football Day. This proposal was initiated by Chairman of the Football Federation of Tajikistan and President of the Central Asian Football Association Rustam Emomali, ASIA-Plus reported.
This concept was submitted on February 9.
Emomali proposed developing a special resolution and officially proclaiming World Football Day. He explained that football is an excellent way to promote a healthy lifestyle. He also noted that football that has a significant place in world culture contributes to uniting peoples and nations.
Libya and Bahrain joined this initiative. The UN Resolution highlights the importance of holding global sporting events that will promote peace, unity and cooperation among nations.
