Emergency Ministry employees have pumped flood water out of 179 houses

Work is currently underway to monitor water level in the Yesil River and disinfect buildings in the flooded areas.

Flood water was diverted and pumped out from 179 houses in Petropavlovsk and Kyzylzharsky district of North Kazakhstan Region. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan used mobile pumping stations and motor pumps for these purposes. They pumped out over 277,000 cubic metres of water, the press office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported.

According to the press office, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are currently monitoring water level in the Yesil River.

They continue to pump flood water out of houses and disinfect the premises in Kulsary. The Ministry of Emergency Situations emphasised that the situation is under control.

Riverbank protection works are currently underway in Kuylys and Zhaysanbay villages in Irgiz district, Aktobe Region. To date, 3,500 bags and 427 tons of inert materials were laid to stabilize water level in the Torgai River.
