The Chinese engineering company, China CAMC Engineering (CAMCE), is set to build a waste disposal plant in Uzbekistan, which will be the first project of its kind in the Republic, the press office of the Ministry of Environment of Uzbekistan reported.
Minister of Environment of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov and Chairman of the Board of Directors at China CAMC Engineering Bo Wang signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the implementation of the large-scale project.
A Chinese expert group will soon arrive in Uzbekistan to assess the current waste recycling situation in the country and develop the conceptual design.
China is also seeking to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan in eco-tourism. Bo Wang is going to send an expert group to explore the mountainous areas of Samarkand and assess the prospects for building a new cable railway.
