On September 27, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev visited the production site of the Shymkent oil refinery, which has had been technically upgraded recently, during his working trip to Shymkent. The President was informed about the fulfilment of the tasks, the press office of Akorda reported.
CEO of PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP Yerbolat Kozhabaev reported on the stages of technological upgrading of the oil refinery. He noted that at the present stage the enterprise is capable of refining 6 million tonnes of hydrocarbon resources per year. Moreover, the upgraded oil refinery has launched the production of eco-friendly fuel for K-4 and K-5 engines.
Talking to the refinery workers, the President emphasised that the enterprise is a strategic zone of the national economy.
Commenting on the results of the visit, the President of Kazakhstan highly evaluated the achievements of the plant, noting that its current refining capacity allows providing 40% of the domestic market with high-demand and high-quality products.
