Uzbekistan and Germany hold political consultations

The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and their German counterparts discussed the progress of bilateral cooperation in Berlin.

On February 4, the Uzbekistan delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gairat Fozilov took part in the regular round of Uzbekistan-Germany political consultations in Berlin, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.

The Germany delegation was headed by Director for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia of the German Federal Foreign Office Matthias Luttenberg.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to promoting bilateral cooperation in key areas, including within the international organisations and agencies.

The talks focused on expanding partnerships in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in regional and international politics.

The German side confirmed its readiness to support Uzbekistan in the ongoing reforms and transformations and boost bilateral cooperation.

Noting that 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Germany, the meeting participants discussed a number of events and mutual visits dedicated to this date.
