On August 6, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov met with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his two-day visit to Turkmenbashi, where he participated in the third Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia. The interlocutors discussed major issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular the possibilities of importing natural gas and the prospects for promoting tourism, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Berdimuhamedov expressed belief that the Consultative Meeting of the Central Asian leaders in Turkmenbashi would give a powerful impetus to promote bilateral and regional cooperation. He said the Central Asian leaders had the opportunity to discuss many major issues, including those on the regional and international agenda.
The leaders of the two countries identified joint action plans and expressed readiness to expand bilateral partnerships in various fields.
