The organisers of the annual Immortal Regiment action in Kyrgyzstan announced plans to hold the processions on May 9. The action will take place in 6 settlements, including the capital city, Bishkek, Sputnik Kyrgyzstan reported.
Immortal Regiment Coordinator in the capital city Zulfira Khaibullina said the processions will take place in Jalal-Abad, Osh, Kara-Balta and Ivanovka and Leninskoye villages, noting that the time of these processions will be specified later.
Chairman of the Combat Brotherhood non-profit organisation of Afghanistan veterans Abdygul Chotbaev said Afghanistan veterans are calling him to learn about the possibility of holding the processions in their hometowns and villages. Chotbaev added that the organisers encourage local residents to organise these processions.
Officer for Educative Work at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan Belek Abdrakhmanov supported the initiative, adding that the Ministry of Defence is ready to support the action.
