Tajikistan imposes visas on Turkish citizens

Turkey will cancel the visa-free regime for citizens of Tajikistan this week.

On April 20, Tajikistan will introduce the entry visa requirements for Turkish citizens who seek to travel to the Republic. This was announced on March 28, Asia-Plus reported.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, headed by Mukhriddin Sirojiddin, confirmed the information. However, at the moment there is no information on visa application fees for Turkish citizens.

Earlier, the Turkish side took the similar decision regarding citizens of Tajikistan. In accordance with the Order of President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Tajik citizens will need a visa to enter Turkey from April this year. Tajik citizens can pay $60 for a visa at the embassies and diplomatic missions of Turkey.

Before the new visa regulations were introduced, Tajik citizens who had a foreign passport did not require a visa to enter Turkey and could stay in Turkey for up to 90 days without a visa.

The official authorities of Turkey have not yet substantiated their decision on the entry visa requirements. The documents say it was taken in accordance with the Law on Foreigners and International Protection.
