Tajikistan set not to let Turkish citizens in without visa

The authorities of the Republic note that this measure is being considered in response to the cancelation of visa-free travel by Turkey for Tajik citizens.

The authorities of Tajikistan are considering slapping a visa requirement on Turkish citizens, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Shokhin Samadi stated, noting that this decision could be made in accordance with the principle of reciprocity, Asia-Plus reports.

Recently, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has signed the decree on the cancelation of visa-free travel for Tajik citizens without giving any explanations of the reasons. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Turkey has not officially notified the Tajik authorities of its decision.

Tajik citizens who are going to visit Turkey are now advised to complete the necessary documents in advance to apply for a visa. Shokhin Samadi also advises those who are going to travel through Turkey to other countries to be prepared for a possible change in plans.

As was reported, a terror attack struck the Crocus City Hall in Moscow Region on March 22. According to the latest data, 145 people were killed, including 6 children. The law enforcement agencies opened a criminal case into the terror attack. Several suspects with weapons and the Tajik passports were detained in Bryansk Region.
