On April 3, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of the exhibition of Turkmenistan’s trade sector. The President wished them good health, prosperity and every success in their work, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
«Today, the trade sector is to achieve the goals of enhancing food security, boosting import substitution, improving the quality of trade services and meeting the domestic demand for consumer goods. The growth in domestic trading shows that these goals are being achieved and the welfare and social and living conditions of the people are improving,» Berdimuhamedov noted.
The President emphasised that the country is actively working towards speeding up economic diversification and widely introducing innovations. In particular, the enterprises that manufacture cotton yarn, fabrics and garment products make a significant contribution to intensive economic growth. Furthermore, large-scale work is undertaken to preserve and improve the art of handmade carpet weaving of the Turkmen people.
«This year’s large-scale exhibition of Turkmenistan’s trade sector will give an opportunity to assess the progress of Turkmenistan’s textile industry and the national art of handmade carpet weaving,» Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
