Nizhny Novgorod in Russia and Khujand in Tajikistan are considering becoming twin cities, the press office of the RF Consulate General in Khujand reported.
A delegation from Nizhny Novgorod Region, consisting of Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ivan Razuvaev and the representatives of 5 companies, visited Tajikistan on March 28-31.
They met with the high-ranking officials, including RF Consul General Sergei Lankin and Deputy Chairman of Sughd Region Anwar Yakubi.
The delegation visited the Sughd free economic zone and had a meeting with entrepreneurs from Sughd Region, at which the prospects of cooperation between Russian and Tajik companies were discussed. The Tajik authorities expressed readiness to promote cooperation in the industrial and logistics sectors, given the transport importance of Khujand in Central Asia.
