Kazakh citizens in Russia advised to have documents with them

An official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Aibek Smadiyarov reminded that every state takes special security measures, including checks and detentions, in connection with major terrorist attacks.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan advised that citizens of Kazakhstan who are staying in the Russian Federation be prepared for possible checks, Orda.kz portal reports.

Security measures were enhanced after the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow Region on March 22. After the tragedy, some media outlets reported that Russian security forces are paying increased attention to citizens of the Central Asian countries. An official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Aibek Smadiyarov commented on the situation.

«Our citizens should have documents with them and the purpose of their stay in this country. As of today, no citizens of Kazakhstan have been reported among the victims of the terror attack,» the official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified.

The diplomat reminded that every state takes special security measures, including checks and detentions, in connection with major terrorist attacks. No complaints about illegal arrests or detentions have been submitted to the embassies so far, Smadiyarov noted.

The ministry official added that at the moment no citizens of Kazakhstan have been reported among those injured in the terrorist attack, noting that over 40,000 citizens of Kazakhstan study at higher education institutions in Moscow.
