This is necessary to boost its competitiveness.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the strategy for boosting sustainable economic growth and competitiveness, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Gross domestic product is expected to grow by over 6% in the first quarter of 2024, driven primarily by an expected increase in industrial output by nearly 10% and an increase in exports to $3.5 billion through strong business support and stable energy supply during the winter months.

Mirziyoyev highlighted the need to complete key processes to build the foundations of a market economy and bring the economy to a new level in the face of increasing competition in the global market. The emphasis was placed on price stability in the domestic market, expansion of the localization of consumer goods and support for enterprises in increasing production capacity.

The President emphasised the importance of using industrial zones and cooperation to launch new investment projects, support local producers, increase the production of value-added goods and create new jobs.
