President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon congratulated citizens of the Republic on International Day of Nowruz. The features of this holiday focus on protecting nature and keeping rivers and water reservoirs clean, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
In his congratulatory message, Emomali Rahmon reminded citizens of the Republic that Nowruz, like the Tajik language and culture, is “firmly rooted in the minds” of citizens of Tajikistan, and its status is very high.
Rahmon emphasised that Nowruz is a national holiday and a purely natural ritual, and Nowruz celebrations have a history of over 6,000 years, which is why Nowruz is directly linked to the national traditions and customs of the Tajik people.
The President of Tajikistan called on citizens to observe these traditions and rituals daily and maintain cleanness of the environment, as well as the cities, villages and roads throughout the country.
