Ministers and akims of Kazakhstan tasked to improve quality of life of citizens

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan informed about the President’s instructions following the National Kurultai.

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting to discuss the measures to improve the quality of life of citizens, announced by President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev at the National Kurultai, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic reported.

The President instructed that investment of 650 billion tenge be attracted to repair 55 heating facilities and modernise over 6,500 kilometres of utility networks.

Olzhas Bektenov focused on the task of guaranteeing housing for citizens of the country. He said the Government is planning to significantly increase a rental housing supply by providing the right to purchase houses to those on the waiting list and earmark an additional 272 billion tenge. Furthermore, Otbasy Bank will launch a mortgage loan programme for different categories of citizens. Once implemented, these measures will allow providing affordable housing for 12,000 families.

It is planned to repair and build over 12,00 kilometres of roads to develop road infrastructure. About 1,700 kilometres of gas pipelines will be modernised, which will allow providing access to gas supply for 12,000 families.

The Prime Minister instructed that the project financing schedules be submitted by April 1, 2024.
