Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with the top managers of the Kazakh Invest National Company to discuss in detail the ongoing projects and plans for the future, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
Currently, Kazakh Invest is implementing 200 projects totally worth $27.3 billion that have created about 68,000 new jobs in Kazakhstan. This year, it is planned to launch over 40 projects involving foreign investors.
The major projects include the plant of American GE HealthCare that will manufacture medical equipment in Astana. The plant will not only provide technical support for medical institutions in Kazakhstan, but also export its products.
Austrian Lasselsberger will open the plant that will manufacture ceramic tiles and building materials in Astana. It will create over 200 new jobs and reduce the dependency on imports. Swiss Roche will open the plant that will manufacture cancer drugs in Almaty and export its products.
Olzhas Bektenov informed the Kazakh Invest top managers about the task set by the President of Kazakhstan to boost the national economy to $450 billion by 2029 through attracting foreign investment. In the future, the national company will focus on attracting investment in projects for grain processing and production of plastics and other high-value products.
