Tajikistan-Belarus trade turnover grew by 10% last year

In 2023, trade turnover between Tajikistan and Belarus grew by 10%, reaching $95 million. Tajikistan’s exports stood at $5.9 million, while imports from Belarus stood at $87.9 million. Trade turnover with Belarus increased by 2.2 times compared with 2021, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Belarus Bakhtovar Safarzoda said in his interview with Zvyazda.

The Ambassador noted the tremendous importance of bilateral cooperation within the Tajikistan-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation. The Commission held its 16th meeting in Dushanbe in September 2023.

Earlier, the Tajikistan-Belarus Business Cooperation Council, which was established by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in 2011, held a meeting. Following the meeting, the parties signed 13 cooperation agreements and supply contracts. The total amount exceeded $16 million.

Tajikistan expressed a profound interest in strengthening trade relations with Belarus.
