Kazakhstan sends humanitarian cargo of 2,000 tons of fuel to Kyrgyzstan

The first batch has been sent.

On the instructions of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, 2,000 tons of diesel fuel were provided from the state reserves to support Kyrgyzstan in its efforts to eliminate the consequences of the accident at the thermal power plant in Bishkek, the press office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported.

On February 28, the first batch of 1,000 tons of diesel fuel was loaded in 17 tank cars at the Zarya branch of the Rezerv state-owned enterprise. This humanitarian cargo will be transferred to the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

An accident at the thermal power plant in Bishkek occurred on the night of February 2. The fire broke out at the building, and it was extinguished after 2 hours. 5 employees of the thermal power plant were injured, 3 of them were hospitalized.

In the spring of 2021, Kazakhstan sent humanitarian cargo of 10,000 tons of flour to Kyrgyzstan. Humanitarian aid was sent in 2020.
