On February 21, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a working trip to Kazan at the invitation of RF President Vladimir Putin to attend the opening ceremony of the Games of the Future. Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin and other officials greeted Mirziyoyev at Kazan International Airport, the press office of the President of the Republic reported.
The programme of the visit includes a meeting between the leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia. The interlocutors will discuss the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached in October 2023 and further measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The Games of the Future will be held in Russia for the first time; they will take place from February 21 to March 3. The Games combine classical sports, information technology and scientific advances. 227 teams from 107 countries, including Uzbekistan, are expected to participate in the tournament.
