Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan presents investment opportunities

Laws provide for benefits and preferences to attract investment.

The QYZYLJAR INVESTMENT FORUM-2024 International Investment Forum kicked off in Petropavlovsk. Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Amangaliy Berdalin addressed the forum, the Ministry reported.

The representative of the Ministry of Agriculture emphasised that Kazakhstan has significant investment advantages, as it is one of the largest grain producers and annually exports more than 8 million tonnes of grain to over 40 countries. Furthermore, Kazakhstan is one of the largest flour exporters; it exports up to 2.5 million tonnes per year.

An advantage of Kazakhstan is that over half of the land area — 220 million hectares — is agricultural land. Laws provide for benefits and preferences, as well as investment subsidies of up to 50% to cover costs in the priority areas of the agro-industrial sector to attract investment. This year, 124.4 billion tenge have been allocated for these purposes.

The Deputy Minister encouraged foreign investors to set up joint agro-processing ventures in Kazakhstan that will process meat, milk, potatoes, sugar beets, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables and rawhides.
