Kazakhstan runs experiments on growing olive trees

Kazakhstan is promised assistance in becoming a member of the International Olive Council.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Georgia Malik Murzalin visited the olive plantations in Kakheti (Georgia), from where he brought several olive seedlings, which would be planted in several regions of Kazakhstan, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.

The process has been launched: olive seedlings have been planted on the experimental plots in Zhetysu and Mangistau Regions.

President of the International Olive Council George Svanidze spoke about the process and nuances. He told the Kazakh guest about Georgia’s experience in olive growing and processing and presented a draft development plan on olive farming in Kazakhstan. Georgian specialists will support Kazakhstan to grow the best olive varieties, create olive plantations, launch an olive factory and obtain an international export certificate.

The expert promised to help Kazakhstan become a member of the International Olive Council.
