On February 6, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev led a meeting, during which he was informed about the measures taken to increase electric vehicle production. Over the past 3 years, sales of electric vehicles in the country have increased tenfold, the press office of the President of the Republic reported.
Currently, there are 8 automotive manufacturing plants and over 2,000 enterprises that produce spare parts and components of vehicles in Uzbekistan.
The participants noted that electric cars are becoming increasingly popular in the Republic; their sales have increased tenfold over the past 3 years. Last year, electric or hybrid cars accounted for 35% of vehicles imported into Uzbekistan.
