On February 6, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov discussed interstate cooperation during a telephone conversation with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Japarov, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reports.
The interlocutors noted that the priority areas of interaction include trade and economy, which are showing a growth trend, and traditional cultural and humanitarian relations are developing progressively. The two countries maintain constructive political dialogue and actively cooperate within international organisations.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov told the friendly country words of support in coping with the current situation at the thermal power plant in Bishkek and wished the speedy completion of repairs. The President of Turkmenistan said he had sent humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan and, if necessary, is ready to provide all possible assistance.
Sadyr Japarov expressed heartfelt gratitude, on behalf of the Kyrgyz people and on his own behalf, for the words of empathy at this difficult moment. The politician said Kyrgyzstan highly values friendly relations with Turkmenistan that was among the first countries to come to the aid of the neighbouring state.
