Uzbekistan has increased gold production by 23%

The President of Uzbekistan reviewed the progress in the sector and gave specific instructions on the adoption of green technologies and digital solutions.

On February 1, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the representatives of the metallurgical sector. A presentation of the measures taken to develop the metallurgical plants in the country was made. It was noted that Uzbekistan increased gold production by 23%, copper production by 51% and silver production by 60%, the press office of the Government of the Republic reported.

In recent years, $7.4 billion have been invested in the Navoi mining and metallurgical plant, the Uzbek metallurgical plant, the Navoiyuran State Enterprise and the Almalyk mining and metallurgical plant.

The President emphasised the need to adopt digital solutions and green technologies at the plants and gave specific instructions to attract new investment. He set the tasks of optimising energy consumption and increasing labour productivity at the mining and metallurgical plants.
