Russia’s Order of Friendship awarded to Speaker of Parliament of Tajikistan

The award was presented for his contribution to promoting partnerships between the two countries.

Chairman of the Lower House of the Parliament of Tajikistan Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda was awarded the Order of Friendship. RF President Vladimir Putin signed the Decree, the press office of the Embassy of Russia in Tajikistan reported the details.

RF Ambassador to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoriev presented the Order of Friendship to the parliamentarian. The interlocutors discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan during their meeting in Dushanbe. In particular, the emphasis was placed on a new level of interparliamentary interaction, which was recognised as an integral part of the alliance and strategic partnerships between Russia and Tajikistan.

In December 2022, Vladimir Putin instructed that the Order of Friendship be awarded to Zokirzoda. General Director of Gazpromneft-Tajikistan Farhod Mirzoev and ex-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Farhod Rahimi were awarded the Order of Friendship as well. Putin thanked them for their contribution to fostering friendship between the countries in this way.
