Uzbekistan to implement international initiatives worth $2.5 billion

The President discussed future initiatives to improve the quality of life of citizens during an online meeting.

On January 29, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held an online meeting, during which key tasks related to housing and communal services, transport, ecology and construction were discussed. The main issues under discussion included the international projects worth $2.5 billion planned for implementation in 2024, the press office of the President of the Republic reported.

The President focused on large-scale work aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens. He said about 1,000 infrastructure facilities were built in the Republic last year.

This year’s plans to launch new projects in partnership with international organisations for a total funding amount of $2.5 billion were announced. Feasibility studies of these initiatives will undergo mandatory assessment. In total, 1,637 infrastructure facilities are to be built this year as part of the investment programme.
