Akylbek Zhaparov reports on Kyrgyzstan’s GDP growth

The Republic reached a historical high.

In 2023, Kyrgyzstan reached a historic milestone, as its GDP stood at 1.228,9 trillion soms. This statement was made by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov during the government meeting, the press office of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

Zhaparov informed that the National Statistical Committee has updated data on GDP growth in 2022 from 6.5 percent to 9 percent. According to the Prime Minister of the Republic, the figures for last year will increase, though a 6.2 percent increase was recorded.

He emphasised the importance of high indicators of operation of state and local governments and noted that a priority task is to create new jobs. Achieving the targets of $30 billion in GDP by 2030 and $200 billion in 2050 requires annual GDP growth ranging from 9 percent to 11.5 percent and an average of 10.3 percent, respectively.
