President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit China at the invitation of PRC President Xi Jinping. The visit is scheduled for January 23-25, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Hua Chunying said, Podrobno.uz reports.
The President of the Republic will hold high-level talks and bilateral meetings during his visit to China. He is expected to meet with the top managers of major Chinese companies in one of the regions to discuss expanding cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. A meeting is also scheduled with the top managers of Chinese banking and financial institutions.
As was reported, the authorities of Uzbekistan are planning to build a 3.2 MW hydropower plant in Andijan Region jointly with China. Preliminary studies for this project are currently underway. According to the regional authorities, the new hydropower plant will supply electricity to about one-third of the territory of the region.
