President of Turkmenistan hears report on 2024 work plans of fuel and energy sector

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov presented the annual work plan of Turkmenistan’s oil and gas sector to the President of Turkmenistan for review.

On January 6, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Amanov reported on the current situation in Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector during the first government meeting in 2024, the Turkmenistan: Today State News Agency reported.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers reported on the implementation of the 2024 work plan of the oil and gas departments. The Turkmenneft State Concern and the Turkmengas State Concern are tasked to develop new oil and gas fields, extract hydrocarbons, produce liquefied gas and export oil and natural gas products.

In accordance with the work plan, specialists from the Turkmengeologiya State Corporation will explore new oil and gas, solid mineral and groundwater deposits. The achievements of modern geological science and innovative technologies will be adopted.

Amanov reported that advanced training courses will be conducted to improve professional skills of Turkmen specialists. Measures will also be taken to involve young specialists in research.

Commenting on the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the fuel and energy sector is one of the key areas of the national economy and instructed the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers to take a responsible approach to fulfilling the designated tasks in the new year.
