On January 5, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov completed his working visit to the United Arab Emirates, Turkmenistan: Golden Age e-Newspaper reports.
Hero-Arkadag met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Al Sheikh Palace. The interlocutors noted with satisfaction fruitful long-term bilateral cooperation and expressed their intention to promote close and mutually beneficial relations.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people met with Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dragon Oil Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer. The interlocutors confirmed that the two countries are ready to continue working together to implement major energy projects.
The Chairman of Halk Maslahaty met with Commercial Director of Dubai Aviation Corporation (Flydubai) Hamad Obaidullah. The interlocutors confirmed that the two countries are interested in expanding cooperation in the transport sector.
Following the talks, a number of documents on bilateral cooperation were signed:
1. Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmengaz State Concern and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) (this Memorandum of Understanding reflects the intention of the parties to attract certain strategic partners to develop Stage III of the Galkynyş field and their potential involvement in the energy projects of gas pipeline infrastructure designed to supply natural gas to the countries of the region and other states);
2. Memorandum of Cooperation between the Turkmengaz State Concern and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) (this Memorandum of Cooperation reflects the intention of the parties to explore the potential opportunities for scientific, technical and economic mutually beneficial cooperation in reducing methane emissions into the atmosphere);
3. Agreement on Cooperation between the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and First Abu Dhabi Bank;
4. Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmennebit State Concern and Dragon Oil (Turkmenistan) Ltd;
5. Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmenhowayollary Agency of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and Dubai Aviation Corporation.
