President of Uzbekistan decides to extend zero import tariffs on certain goods

The decision applies to fruits, milk, fish, onions, eggs, macaroni products, cereals and other food products.


President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Decree authorising to extend zero import tariffs on certain food products until January 2025. This decision is aimed at maintaining food price stability in the domestic market and controlling inflation, Gazeta.uz reports.

The Decree covers to a wide range of goods, including fish, milk, butter and bananas, among others. Zero import tariffs will also apply to fresh, chilled and frozen poultry meat and oils throughout the next year.

In accordance with the Decree, the government commission for investment, industrial development and trade must submit its proposals for curbing rising sugar prices and ensuring stable production by February. By October 1, the commission must assess the effectiveness of existing benefits and develop proposals for their continued application.
