Kyrgyz officials obliged to collect receipts

Reports must be submitted monthly.

The Kyrgyz Government has introduced the practice of collecting cash receipts from government employees to combat the shadow economy as part of the tax reform, the Administration of the President of the Republic reported.

The heads of budgetary organisations need to collect receipts in the amount of at least 15,000 soms per month, and employees — at least 10,000 soms. These receipts must be submitted to the departments of the State Tax Service monthly — by the end of the reporting period.

Government officials who fail to meet this requirement effectively or fail to submit their receipts within the specified period will be held accountable.

The requirement to collect cash receipts has been introduced to create a more transparent economic environment in which documentation of transactions and compliance with tax laws are the basis of a healthy economy. This initiative will help prevent illegal transactions and increase tax revenue. The Order was signed by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov.
