Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship of CIS in 2023 reviewed

This year, much work has been done to combat extremism and terrorism.

The CIS Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives held a regular meeting in Minsk, the Telegram channel of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly reports the details.

The outcomes of Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship of the CIS in 2023 were reviewed at the meeting, which was attended by CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev. The permanent representatives noted that the Kyrgyz side has done much work.

This year, the work has been done under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic to boost interaction among the CIS Member States, and an exchange of views on current issues of world politics has taken place.

In 2023, the CIS Member States have aimed their efforts to combat terrorism, extremism and illicit drug trafficking. They have taken measures to suppress economic crimes and illegal migration.
