China considers increasing number of educational grants for Uzbek students

The China Scholarship Council will consider the proposal in the near future.

On December 11, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of Uzbekistan Shahlo Turdikulova and Deputy Secretary-General of the China Scholarship Council Tian Lulu held a meeting in Tashkent. The main issues under discussion included an increased number of China’s educational grants for Uzbek students, the press office of the Government of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The parties discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in education and science. Tian Lulu said China is seeking to ensure that Chinese youth have access to cutting-edge achievements in higher education offered in Uzbekistan.

Shahlo Turdikulova proposed that the number of educational grants for Uzbek students willing to study in China be increased in the near future. The Chinese representative got interested in this proposal and promised that it would be considered soon.

In recent years, the number of students in Uzbekistan who learn Chinese has increased significantly. The total number of students who learn Chinese at these educational institutions exceeds 2,000.
