India and Uzbekistan to cooperate in defence industry

The defence industry representatives discussed the implementation of joint projects at the Uzbekistan-India seminar in Tashkent.

A seminar on Uzbekistan-India cooperation in the defence industry took place in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent. The organisers noted that defence enterprises in the two countries intend to strengthen partnerships, the press office of the Ministry of Defence of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The participants discussed joint projects, and the companies from the two countries presented their initiatives. The Indian companies, including Bharat Dynamics, Apollo Micro Systems, TATA Advanced Systems, Bharat Forge and Karman Drones Private, participated in the seminar. The meeting focused on the promising areas of cooperation in the industry.

Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held official talks with Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia Khalid al-Falih on the plans to promote partnerships, including in the defence industry. Mutually beneficial joint projects worth $12 billion are to be implemented.
