On November 28, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov in Ashgabat. In particular, the meeting focused on the prospects for expanding interstate relations, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
“Turkmenistan attaches great importance to expanding and deepening multifaceted partnerships with the Republic of Azerbaijan,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised.
The President highlighted the need to strengthen the role of the Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. He said the Commission is a coordinating body that aims to promote bilateral relations in the trade, economic, energy, transport, communications, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian sectors.
The President expressed belief that the visit of the Azerbaijani delegation to Turkmenistan will be an important step to expand bilateral cooperation and give new impetus to mutually beneficial partnerships.
The interlocutors emphasised the importance of using the advantageous geographical location of the neighbouring countries. This allows implementing joint international for in energy supply, trade, communications, cargo transportation and transport corridors. The interlocutors emphasised their mutual interest in expanding a fruitful dialogue in culture, science and education.
