President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the launch ceremony of the projects aimed at connecting a modern combined cycle power plant to the power distribution network in Syrdarya Region. The power plant has a capacity of 1,500 megawatts, the press office of the President of the Republic reported to CentralAsia.news.
The project cost $1.1 billion. The power plant will soon make it possible to meet electricity needs of over 3 million households and many industrial enterprises.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev was informed during the ceremony that the project of a “green” hydrogen generation plant was launched. It is expected to produce about 3,000 tonnes per year, which are necessary to produce mineral fertilizers. A 52 MW wind farm will be built as well.
