Kazakhstan takes part in establishing Alliance of Ski Resorts of Turkic States

An important step to promote ski tourism was made in the framework of the UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia.

The Shahdag Tourism Centre of Azerbaijan and the Shymbulak Mountain Resort of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the promotion of ski tourism in the Turkic states and the establishment of the Alliance of Ski Resorts of Turkic States, the press office of the Shahdag Tourism Centre reported.

The document aims to establish and promote relations among ski centres of the Member States, identify development priorities of ski tourism, improve professional skills and develop joint training programmes in this field.

“This cooperation opens up new prospects for promoting ski tourism in the countries of the Turkic world, and also contributes to strengthening interstate relations and the exchange of cultural values,” the press office of the Shahdag Tourism Centre reported.

The document envisages bolstering contacts among ski centres in the participating countries, setting the unified development standards for international ski tourism and developing joint training programmes in this field.

Furthermore, the Memorandum envisages exchanging experiences to improve the quality of services and holding joint ski competitions and marketing events. Also, a unified calendar of events, exhibitions and conferences will be compiled.
