After the autumn session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in Bishkek had closed, the heads of chambers of parliaments of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) held meetings. The heads of parliaments met with their counterparts to discuss the outcomes of the session and further bilateral cooperation, the Telegram channel of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member States reports.
Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council and Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko met with Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Shakiev. The interlocutors noted the positive dynamics of the development of Kyrgyzstan-Russia cooperation and expressed mutual readiness to expand the spectrum of interaction.
Valentina Matvienko highly evaluated Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship in the Commonwealth of Independent States this year. She noted the progress of cooperation in education, in particular the work of Russian teachers at secondary schools in the Republic. The parties agreed to further increase the number of Russian teachers and expand the geography of the project.
Valentina Matvienko held a meeting with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova. They discussed intensifying integration processes within the Belarus-Russia Alliance and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The prospects for promoting bilateral multifaceted cooperation and strengthening humanitarian ties were discussed with Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan Rustami Emomali. The interlocutors emphasised that Russia-Tajikistan relations are characterised by strategic partnership and alliance.
