According to the latest data, there are 950 greenhouses with a total area of 166 hectares in the country, which significantly exceeds last year’s figures, when greenhouses occupied an area of 101.5 hectares. Currently, vegetables, including tomatoes and cucumbers, among others, and citrus crops are grown in greenhouses on an area of 43.9 hectares. Planting work is ongoing.

Director of the Institute of Horticulture and Vegetable Growing at the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan Alif Tolibov spoke about various methods of vegetable farming in greenhouses. 5 types of farming are used in the country. However, not every method is suitable for any crop: when choosing seed, the size of a greenhouse and a technology for crop farming need to be taken into consideration.
