On November 16, a meeting of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly took place at the state residence of President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov in Bishkek. The heads of parliamentary delegations of the CIS Member States participated in the meeting, the Telegram channel of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly reports.
Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko noted that the agenda of the autumn session of the Assembly in Bishkek is very busy and includes various dialogue formats and discussions “on the sidelines”. She emphasised that it is becoming a good tradition to expand the geography of the Assembly’s meetings, and the dialogue between the members of the CIS IPA is open and result-oriented.
Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Shakiev noted the important role of the Interparliamentary Assembly as an effective platform for cooperation. The Speaker of Kyrgyz Parliament emphasised that parliamentary interaction lays the groundwork for mutually beneficial political, economic, cultural and humanitarian partnerships.
