CIS model laws on public health discussed in Kyrgyzstan

Experts presented draft laws and discussed necessary amendments.

On November 13, the Commission for the development of the principles of bioethics and evidence-based medicine of the Expert Council on Health of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly held a visiting meeting in Bishkek. The event was opened by Chairperson of the Commission Larisa Danilova, the Telegram channel of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member States reports.

The participants considered the proposals for developing model laws on public health of the CIS Member States using the Code of Kazakhstan on Public Health and Healthcare System as an example. They reviewed the progress of the development on the model law medical products regulation of the CIS Member States.

The draft CIS Interstate Programme of Innovative Cooperation until 2030 was presented for review. Deputy Chairman of the Commission Sergei Savashinsky presented a roadmap for the implementation of CIS projects in 2024-2025. These projects envisage setting up national evidence bases in the CIS Member States.

The commission meets on a regular basis. The next meeting will be held in Astana in May 2024.
