Trade between Sughd Region and Kazakhstan exceeded $602 million for the nine months of the year. This information was presented during a meeting between Head of Sughd Region Rajabboy Ahmadzoda and Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan Valikhon Turakhonov, Sputnik reports.
The parties emphasised their readiness to expand cooperation. The Head of Sughd Region and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan noted that now bilateral relations, including economic and cultural ties, are at a good level.
Ahmadzoda told about the areas in which the region and Kazakhstan can expand partnerships: he informed about the agricultural and industrial capacities of the region and the favourable investment climate.
Ambassador Turakhonov noted that cooperation between Kazakhstan and Sughd Region is growing with every passing year. He said businessmen in his country are ready to work with their counterparts in Tajikistan under interstate agreements on the creation of joint ventures.
Kazakhstan is the second largest trading partner of Tajikistan after Russia among the CIS Member States.
