President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met on the sidelines of the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tashkent, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports the details.
The leaders discussed bolstering political, trade, economic and industrial cooperation. The two countries will continue to work together in the energy sector and the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The two leaders noted that they expected the coming visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Dushanbe to produce a positive effect on bilateral cooperation. The visit is scheduled to take place in 2024.
Several business events, including a trade, economic and investment forum, will be held during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan. Cultural events are also scheduled to take place: for example, an evening of friendship.
