Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry has repatriated women and children from Syrian camps three times in 2023

An action plan for the return of Kyrgyz citizens to the Republic was adopted in 2022.

The Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan responded to SNG.Today that it was taking measures to repatriate citizens of the Republic from refugee camps in Syria. Since 2019, meetings and talks with the partners of the Kyrgyz Republic, including the United States, Russia and Syria, have been held at various levels.

On June 14, 2022, the Government of the Republic issued the Order and the action plan for the return of Kyrgyz citizens from camps and prisons in Syria. The work to ensure the implementation of this Order is currently underway.

This year, three stages of the Aikel special operation have been implemented to return Kyrgyz citizens from northeast Syria. 237 people: women and children were repatriated.

An interdepartmental working group, consisting of ministries and departments, was set up to facilitate repatriation of Kyrgyz citizens from Syria. A rehabilitation, reintegration and resocialization programme for repatriated citizens in the Republic was developed.
