The history of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is considered to begin with the signing of the Nakhichevan Declaration by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and the leaders of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, which marked the birth of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (later renamed). The main objectives of the Organisation are to strengthen friendship and good neighbourliness among the Turkic countries.
Today, the OTS Members cooperate under various projects in the political and economic, healthcare, tourism and education sectors.
Together with other countries, Kazakhstan is going to discuss key aspects of cooperation in the trade, economic, investment, humanitarian and other spheres at the upcoming Summit.
